Back in Ketchikan

After six months tied to the Ketchikan Yacht Club and diligently cared for by Teka Lamade, who lived aboard her Freedom 30 "Allegro" all winter at the club, Teal survived the winter in good order.

Notice the snow build up on the water in the photo. Might it be ice supporting all that snow?

We boarded the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry MV/Matanuska at Bellingham Washington April 4Th for a very smooth 36-hour fair-weather passage through British Columbia's inland passage.

Our accommodations were boat-like but adequate.

We arrived at Ketchikan in a light rain April 6th, caught a van-size cab, loaded our luggage, six bags a solar panel, and a new prawn trap, for the short ride to the yacht club at Thomas Basin, and began warming, drying out Teal, and stowing all the gear.

A couple of days later the rain turned to snow. The weather has slowed our progress a little, but we get something done every day in between showers.

We reinstalled the motor yesterday and are having intermediate snow showers this morning.
